During my childhood days. I was hesitant to do foolish things. I was so mindful of doing, stuff appropriate for my father’s eyes. I never involved myself in such a thing as friends from school. I got to church then home . . . that was my life. Never did I experience stupidity that may hook my reputation down. Never, because it was not my choice.
Now that I am old enough to make a choice. I fall into choosing the wrong decision. Not being with friends but doing exactly what is “in” in friendship. Sad thing is being child of God, I have to ignore it, but instead, I did it, too. With that bit of foolishness, I need to start my life all over again and be the kind of person I once knew.
As young people, we are faced with many choices and decisions in different areas of our lives. Be it on family life, student life, relationship with our friends one’s choice is being govern med by different aspects and dimension that can provoke one to go beyond the periphery of things into the deeper confluence of external and internal forces that more and direct one’s decision. I so doing, one must have a good grasp of what is happening in reality. That is, a real effort must be exerted to view things not only from perspective but as well as other’s and to go beyond one’s rationalization.
With this, I realized that one must choose the action that would promote human and Christian values for instance, you’re faced in a dilemma between realizing the value of integrity and conscience and value of friendship one must choose the value of integrity of conscience if it will lead one to be involved on a conspiracy to cheat. However, we are faced in a pressure of belonging to a group for our self worth and identity versus choosing the right thing to do so.
The value like faith, freedom, life, justice, charity, honesty, integrity, and compassion may either be protected from being compromised in making choices provided that question like “what kind of a person am I?” or “ What kind of person do I seek to become” is being asked.
It is vital, therefore, to know that choices and decision made in our everyday lives are gradually shaping on moral being molding our personality. Like the saying goes “Plant an act. Reap a habit; plant a habit, reap a virtue: plant a virtue, reap a character, plant a character, reap a destiny, so as we should discern right choices from the wrong one’s, in feel sense we become our choices which enter shaping the person in us… and that is determined by the choices we make.
If a small wrong act is excused and tolerated as a mere adventure, it beats the true essence of a good choice and in the end produced the, same consequence. That is a negative, therefore, in making one’s choice, it is best to choose the best option that produces a positive outcome.
